Solaris Patch Management Tools

Sun offers the following tools that you can use to manage signed patches on Solaris[tm] systems.

PatchPro Expert	Important Note: PatchPro Expert was decommissioned on March 25, 2006. Users of PatchPro should use PatchPro 2.2 for Solaris 6 and 7, Patch Manager for Solaris 8 and 9 or Sun Update Manager for Solaris 10.
Patch Manager	The Solaris patch automation tool, base on PatchPro technology, to manage signed patches that you download to Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 systems running SPARC[tm] or x86 hardware. Patch Manager allow you to: Analyze a Solaris system to determine the needed patches Download the desired patches from Sun to a local system Apply the chosen patches to a local system in automatic and manual modes Remove patches from a local system Download Patch Manager
PatchPro 2.2	PatchPro 2.2 is the predecessor to the Patch Manager tool. Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 users of PatchPro 2.2 (also called Patch Manager Base 1.0.1) should use Patch Manager as a replacement.
